GROWING INTERNAL CAPACITY
We will immediately deliver better services to more students while we ramp up to our expanded, sustainable budget because we know our operating costs will increase in our new space. We will invest in operations, technology, and furnishings to enhance our space. We will grow our capacity to engage with the community to increase community support over time.
REALIZING PAY EQUITY
We will retain our talented staff by increasing staff salaries to bring everyone closer to market-rate compensation and help to continue our important work. We are committed to our current staff, their wellbeing, and attracting the best staff with more competitive salaries that will best support our students and organization.
ESTABLISHING A NEW HOME FOR LITERACY SOURCE
We have moved into a new location in Lake City, across the street from our current location, that works better for students, staff, and volunteers. This new Learning Center is a nonprofit hub and includes the following features and benefits for our community:

LARGER CLASSROOMS
Community Benefits: Two full-sized classrooms serve 25 students per class, while continuing individual support. With eight in-person classes currently running, we can increase students served by almost 50 per quarter without adding new classes

PRIVATE & SMALL GROUP LEARNING SPACES
Community Benefits: Expanded private spaces for individual instruction and tutoring, independent and online learning for quiet, high-quality learning experiences

TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION
Community Benefits: High-tech learning and teaching of basic digital skills so students have increased skills for work and life

MULTI-MEDIA & ONLINE LEARNING CAPABILITIES
Community Benefits: Become a modern learning center with updated technology in classrooms that better supports hybrid learning, online learning capabilities, and support for those who cannot come into the center

FRIENDLY SPACES
Community Benefits: Foster interclass bonding and socializing through better space usage that includes a kitchen and sufficient informal and open space to promote community and celebration

SHARED COMMUNITY
Community Benefits: Integrate into a nonprofit hub with complementary services so there is a larger community of support for students, staff, and volunteers that includes a 300 person meeting room to share
