What would you like to tell us about yourself?

My name is Kelly and I just graduated from Shoreline College! I like to fish, bowl, and hike with my two dogs Nettle and Milo.

Why did you decide to work with a tutor at Literacy Source?
​
I was struggling to find help for my college studies. I needed more than the tutoring center at the college because of my dyslexia. I knew I had writing classes and would need help to complete my degree. I went to literacy source to take a computer class and reading class and was placed with a tutor.

What have you learned and why is it important to your life? Did your work with a LS tutor help you work towards your goals? ​

My literacy source tutor helped meet me at my level and we worked at my pace. We worked through my last two college classes together and now I have graduated.
What do you like about Literacy Source?

I like how everybody supported each other and the teachers were so respectful to the students. Taking classes here was super different than my school experience. I found myself supporting fellow students and getting to see them succeed. It made me want to succeed too.

What are your goals or dreams for the future?
​
My goal is to work in a machining shop building airplanes or aerospace parts. This is what my degree is in!
